Sometimes being fired is a good thing. Since being discharged from his position at Island Records, Jermaine Dupri apparently have kept himself creatively busy. Dupri wanted to follow girlfriend, Janet Jackson’s venture, to the fashion world. But instead of designing sexy underwears, the music producer collaborated with renowned jewelry designer, Pascal Mouawad, and came up with a unique collection of stylish watches called Pop Watch. It’s not hard to spot Pop Watches among the crowd. They’re huge, they’re bright, and they come both in analog and digital versions. We spotted the collection at The MAGIC Trade Show. Check ‘em out.
The Pop Watch collection is inspired by the iconic pop art of yesteryear as well as the vibrancy of today’s pop music and culture. As Jermaine Dupri stated, “I grew up loving Swatch watches and admiring Andy Warhol. A lot of myinspiration came from that. I wanted to create a watch that was stylish and affordable.”
Are you feelin’ the Pop Watch collection? They’re priced between $120 and $290 and will soon be available at major department stores nationwide. We’ll let you know when they’ll be available online.
